Although the 2017 NBA Championship odds haven’t been posted yet, it is pretty clear who our basketball finalists are going to be. When it comes to betting the NBA online over the last couple of years it hasn’t been rocket science to guess which two teams were most likely to be in the final.
The 2017 NBA Playoffs has had even less drama this year than the previous few years and that has been frankly a blessing for me. With some creative pointspread betting, and square moneyline betting on anyone named LeBron or Curry, I have managed to turn a solid profit this year. I am hoping to do the same with the NBA Championship odds so let’s preview the match up.
NBA Championship Odds – Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Golden State Warriors
Sure its not official but is there any doubt? Ok, the Boston Celtics won one at home (as I predicted) but their series with the Cleveland Cavaliers is now 3-1 in LeBron’s favor. Is there any chance of them winning the three next games? In any universe?
Add to that the fact that they are taking on the defending NBA Champions while without their star player due to injury. With Isiah Thomas out for the season it took an exceptional effort for the Celtics to win Game 3. Now that the Cavs are up 3-1 in the series however, the end is virtually guaranteed for the Beantowners. Needless to say, we will not be seeing the team name Boston Celtics in any NBA Championship odds. The Cavaliers are -10 on the pointspread for tomorrow night’s game while the Celtics are +425 on the moneyline. The Over Under for game is 215.5.
NBA Championship Odds – Best Basketball Picks
In the NBA’s Western Conference there has been even less drama with the Golden State Warriors going a record 12-0 in their three series. I can only think of one game that was even reasonably close and the rest were gimmes. It was only a matter of whether you bet for or against the Warriors on the basketball point spreads.
I hate to discount the Cavaliers this early, and especially a team that came back from 3-1 down in the NBA Finals last year, but the Warriors look ridiculously good this year. The addition of Kevin Durant has lived up to its hype. We will need to see what the bookies think the NBA Championship Odds should be, but I think GSW will be a solid favorite.
