Western Conference NBA odds are fairly predictable when it comes to betting lines and particularly when it involves the Golden State Warriors. Now, they are still only one of four teams left in the West, but when it comes to Western Conference NBA odds they are pretty much the only ones that matter.
Now that doesn’t mean we don’t take long looks at the other three teams e.g. the San Antonio Spurs, the Houston Rockets, and the Utah Jazz. Remember- no one ever beat the bookies in the long run by betting huge favorites on every wager. When it comes to Western Conference NBA odds we have to go where the opportunity for profit is- so let’s take a look at where we can make some money.
Western Conference NBA Odds – Golden State Warrior vs. Everyone Else
Ok, that should read the Utah Jazz above but really what would be the point? I don’t mean to disrespect the Jazz or the good citizens of the famously non-betting state of Utah, but they are cooked like the proverbial goose. So really, it is a matter of can the Jazz cover the spread and make it interesting?
In Game 1 the Warriors did not cover the 13.5 spread winning only by 12 points. They also were six points under the 206 Over Under. Which leads one to believe that Jazz are playing their hearts out and may have enough defensive gas to short the points. For today’s game the Warriors are -12.5 favorites which might reflect Game 1’s stats. Think long and hard about the Utah Jazz maybe making this a tight one and covering the spread. Same re the 204 Over Under. Don’t even bother with the moneyline. The series price? A whopping -10,000 on GSW!
NBA Playoff Best Bets – San Antonio Spurs vs. Houston Rockets
Well I don’t think anyone would have thought that the Houston Rockets would blow up the San Antonio Spurs 126-99 in Game 1. Seriously, 27 points Pop? I would be very surprised however if we saw a similar blow out, and the Spurs clearly had all of their defensive holes plugged last night when they in turn blew out Houston.
Make no mistake though, the Rockets are a fast team and that is causing problems for the Spurs. Add to that the fact that Tony Parker is seriously injured and will be out for the remainder of the playoffs – this is now anyone’s series.
The Western Conference NBA odds for Friday night’s game are +4.5 on the pointspread for San Antonio. This reflects the fact that Houston is now playing at home and no doubt the injury to Tony Parker. If you are feeling a San Antonio win then the +160 moneyline should provide lots of value. Or conversely take the points and worry less about who posts the W, and more about by how much they got the win.
The series price is now -115 for both teams and you could argue that there isn’t any value there. The NBA Future lines on who wins the Western Conference have Houston at +800 and the Spurs at +700. At the end of the day I have to believe that Pop and the Spurs will win this thing in seven games- but I have been wrong before.
