When it comes to making football bets online, there is no more pleasant day to do it then Thanksgiving Day. Firmly ensconced in my duct-taped La-Z-Boy I juggle my laptop, the remote, scotch, and a never ending smorgasbord of food while trying to ignore my family by turning up the volume on the TV. I peruse the lines for the games on RealBet.eu looking for smart football picks to bet on and make a tidy profit. I will nap at least twice and feed the dog potato chips throughout the day which makes him fart. Happy Thanksgiving indeed!
Football Bets Online – NFL Thursday Games
With that image permanently etched in your mind, let’s get down to some holiday football betting picks. We have three NFL games and one college game of note, and I think we will take a quick look at wagering on one of the NFL games. First up we have the Minnesota Vikings versus the Detroit Lions in a NFC North divisional match up.
NFL Lines and Odds – Minnesota Vikings vs. Detroit Lions
This NFC North contest is one with lots of historical rivalry which is one of the great things about holiday games. This should be an interesting game as both the Vikings and the Lions are tied for 1st in the NFC North at 6-4. I think the Lions are most likely pleased with this, and the Vikings are no doubt disapointed by this. The injuries to Teddy Bridgewater and Adrian Peterson have been two challenges for the Viks. The Lions on the other hand have a healthy team and franchise player Matt Stanford showing class, so they are gunning to make the playoffs which is worth considering when making your football bets online.
Thanksgiving NFL Wagers – Football Pointspreads and Moneylines
The Vikings are dogs here at +3 on the pointspread as they are playing in Detroit, so this game is essentially a road pick’em which makes sense. Detroit is the -140 moneyline favorite and I don’t think either line holds much value. The handicappers are basically playing it safe and locking in their vig and I doubt the public money is going to make much of a difference either way.
The Total line stands at 41.5, and I think that too is probably dead on as we have the Minnesota Vikings with the worst ranked offense in the league while the Detroit Lions have the 25th best offense. Conversely, the Vikings have the 3rd best defense in the NFL and the Lions have the 18th best defense. So NFL Week 12 fatigue and injuries, combined with two horrible offenses, and two good defenses might spell an Under bet. At the end of the day this might be a game to eat, drink, and snooze through, but if you are looking for a little action try the Under 41.5 bet. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
