NHL Playoff Recap at RealBet.euOur NHL playoffs recap contains some great betting insight and there’s been a good mix of what we thought would happen i.e. the Washington Capitals, what we thought might happen as with the St. Louis Blues, and what we couldn’t even fathom re the Anaheim Ducks. Let’s take a look a quick look at each series after one week’s worth of NHL playoff hockey.

NHL Playoffs Recap – Washington Capitals (3) vs. Philadelphia Flyers (0)

The Caps are one win away from sweeping this series, and to be brutally honest it hasn’t really been all that close. The Capitals, as we’ve mentioned several times, are the league’s best team and this first round series was never in question. Alexander Ovechkin leads the way with 3 goals and Nicklas Backstrom paces all players in the series with 6 points. If you took the Caps at -260 you’re feeling real good.

NHL Playoffs Picks – Pittsburgh Penguins (1) vs. New York Rangers (1)

This series is the slowest moving of the eight with only two games played. However, after a great performance by the Pens in Game 1, the Rangers answered and have sent this series back to Madison Square Gardens all squared up. Pens star Evgeni Malkin is back in the fold, while the Rangers are still missing captain Ryan McDonagh. The biggest question mark for the Pens is goaltending as they’re still rolling with 3rd stringer Jeff Zatkoff as both of their starting goalies are on the Injured Reserve. The Rangers are back home and will seek to shut down Sidney Crosby’s line. This series is far from over.

NHL Playoffs Betting – Florida Panthers (1) vs. New York Islanders (2)

The biggest upset going so far in the East comes from this series. The Islanders have peppered Panthers’ goaltender Roberto Luongo with over 80 shots in the last two games and currently own a 2-1 series lead. The Panthers were the Atlantic Division champions but have struggled to force their will on the Isles in this series. Jaromir Jagr, who had a huge year at the age of 44, hasn’t scored a playoff goal since 2012.

NHL Playoffs Summary – Tampa Bay Lightning (2) vs. Detroit Red Wings (1)

This is a series. After the Bolts took the first two at home, the Wings answered with a dominating performance at home to cut the series lead in half. Tampa’s has leaned heavily on their top line for a bulk of their offense and in Game 3 the line had 0 shots and Tampa lost for the first time in the series. The Wings switched to Petr Mrazek in goal which could be the momentum swing they needed to even this series.

NHL Online Sportsbook Betting – Dallas Stars (2) vs. Minnesota Wild (1)

Dallas blew it last night. With a 2-0 series lead and a 2-0 lead in Game 3, the Stars let the Wild back into it and now only lead the series 2-1. If you have money on the Stars don’t sweat as they’re still in the driver seat in this series. Only question mark for Dallas right now is the health of superstar Tyler Seguin who played Game 2 but hasn’t played since.

NHL Playoffs Recap – St. Louis Blues (2) vs. Chicago Blackhawks (1)

The defending champs are on the ropes. Many thought this was the Blues’ year to finally dispatch the Blackhawks and so far, so good. Goaltender Brian Elliot has been the best player in the series, and the Blues at -110 will look outstanding if they can take one more game in Chicago.

Hockey Betting Bonuses – Anaheim Ducks (0) vs. Nashville Predators (2)

Trouble in Duckland. Dropping both games at home, they now trail 0-2 heading into Nashville. The Preds have been the more disciplined team this series and held Anaheim’s big guns in check in Game 2. Anaheim may look at a goaltending switch in Game 3 but it won’t make a difference if they don’t stay out of the box. This series has been the most surprising of any in the West.

NHL Playoffs Recap – Los Angeles Kings (1) vs. San Jose Sharks (2)

The Kings saved their season with a massive OT win in Game 3 and now they have life. The Sharks have played outstanding hockey through three games, and even though they lost last night they’re still in the driver’s seat as this series stays in San Jose for Game 4. This series has 7 games written all over it.
