UFC 210 lines are up at RealBet and the big event takes place Saturday evening at the KeyBank Centre in Buffalo. I am definitely excited about UFC 210 lines as there is some real value there- and it should be very entertaining. There is a legit Light Heavyweight matchup in Cormier vs. Johnson II, as well as several other promising bouts on the main card.
I have found the key to betting on MMA, and UFC in particular, is to look for weak lines on big favorites. I don’t know if I have just gotten lucky but more often than not I have found top fighters a little undervalued. I am not saying that is currently the case with UFC 210 lines, but let’s take a look and see where we can scratch out some profit.
UFC 210 Lines – Daniel Cormier vs. Anthony Johnson
This one will be a doozy and it has some extra drama in the form of the “ghost of what should have been if Jon Jones wasn’t all juiced up before UFC 200″. Anyway, as we all know Jones was pulled from the card and Daniel Cormier fought a game Anderson Silva and became the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion. However, Jones is actually throwing a party in Buffalo on the night of the fight, and clearly we are being set up for a much anticipated Cormier vs. Jones I or II depending on how you look at it. Either way a lot of moolah.
MMA Betting – Anthony Johnson
But enough about Jon “Bones” Jones. Anthony “Rumble” Johnson is a seriously good fighter who may end up being champ after Saturday night so let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves. Johnson is 22-5 and is the #1 ranked challenger for the UFC Light Heavyweight belt. He is riding a three match KO streak and is going to give Cormier all he can handle and more. Actually, he has not lost since being pinned by Cormier in UFC 187.
In fact, the bookmakers at RealBet (who got picked on a lot in high school) have made Anthony Johnson the -125 favorite when it comes to UFC 210 lines. There is the very real chance of a change of champion on Saturday night in Buffalo, which is not something you hear said about The City of No Illusions.
UFC 210 Free Betting Picks – Daniel Cormier
Ok, so what about the defending UFC Light Heavyweight Champion in the lethal form of Daniel Cormier? Cormier is the belt holder and deserves some respect and will get a few points from the judges for just that fact. As such the handicappers have made Cormier a -105 dog, which is about as respectful as you can get to the guy that isn’t supposed to win the fight.
Cormier beat an aging and unprepared Silva for the title and has defended the belt once since. Lifetime he is a sterling 18-1 and really has a championship pedigree. He is known as one of the best wrestlers in the octagon, and was an Olympic and college standout. Cormier’s striking is no doubt his weakest aspect but his team has been working on that.
At the end of the day, this fight will see a powerful striker in Johnson taking on a superb wrestler in Cormier. At the very least it should be a stylistic classic and the UFC 210 lines reflect that. I almost think this one is really too close to call, although the longer the fight goes the more advantage Cormier has. It is hard to argue with his record or skills- and always remember that the champion gets the benefit of the doubt from the judges when there isn’t a KO. As always use your own judgement, but I think Cormier squeaks this one out with no KO or pin for the distance. And we know how much Dana Larsen loves big money rematches!
